Underground ( deutsche Version)
The underground of Oppenheim is a sensational attraction of our region, full of tales and history – both mysterious and legendary. Only recently, this long forgotten attraction was rediscovered.
The journey into our subterranean begins with stepping down ancient stone stairs – or simply taking the elevator downstairs – into the Middle Ages. Our historical underground vault is a place where history comes alive again.
The rooms you are going to pass through are situated right beneath our estate. They belong to a medieval building with four underground floors altogether, located in the ancient center of Oppenheim.
Here we show you our huge storerooms. In former times they were used to store the wine, today they offer an extraordinary atmosphere for our cultural events, performances and concerts.

In our cellars you will see
• Three subterranean fountains, one of a kind in Oppenheim
• The niche of the Madonna with its stonework from the Lombardy, about 500-600 years old
• The room of the Cathedral, a subterranean cloister vault that is – as far as we know – unique in Germany
Get inspired by our pictures to visit our cellars and experience their unique atmosphere.
You are always welcome to this distinctive trip into the past.
